Pros and cons of Hot Rod Magazine app for iPhone and iPad

Hot Rod Magazine app good for

Love having my favourite magazine in the palm of my hand for the price of two new stands thanks HotRod
This is great instead of paying 7.99$ in the store you pay only 5.99$ or a year subscription for 11.99$
Great read I no longer have to wait for my copy to show up !!!

Some bad moments

The Hot Rod Magazine for the IPad, works, but it is just like leafing through a paper magazine. It is like they scanned the pages into a PDF. It does not take advantage of the capabilities of the IPad; no videos, no sound clips, no animations, it is just the magazine in digital form. A real shame, because a magazine like Hot Rod could be really spectacular for the IPad. The app does work, there are no real serious glitches. You can scroll page by page through the magazine. There are some problems because it is just a digital copy. A couple of the adds, take forever to become sharp, and on my IPad mini, some of the text is so small it is unreadable, and has to be enlarged to read. Some simple programming could have made some sections so much better with menus, and photos that enlarged when scrolled over.
The magazine will not stop crashing! 2-3 pages in everytime. Then delete, install and try again. Bam, crash. Repeat. No other magazine does this on my iPad.
Keeps crashing since iOS 8 installed...cant download previous issue... Very desapointing
All this does is show the pages of the magazine. At least with Motor Trends app, you get related video and other pics that are not in the print version, and it is from the same publisher!!! Also, I have been a print subscriber to Hot Rod for over 30 years, the iPad version should be FREE to print subscribers. I feel like Source Interlink is double dipping by charging for print and digital and just giving the same thing twice.
The mag looks great on my iPad, but Im disappointed that the issues arent free to download for print subscribers. Id love to have a collection of Hot Rod mags on my iPad, but not if I have to pay for the digital copy in addition to the print copy I already get in the mail. Great mag - Ive given up on several car magazines Ive subscribed to over the years, but Hot Rod continues to feature great cars, nice write ups, and sharp photos. Worth subscribing to, but not twice the subscription price.
I love this magazine but I hate this app!!! Ive reported it last month and continues to crash. Dont waste your money because when you want to use you can bet it will crash.
